In MIDI mode, Waymaker functions as both a standalone MIDI sequencer and a dynamic effect processor, enabling the creation of custom chains for melody generation, transposition, and evolving sequences. This flexibility supports various workflows, from live performance to studio production.

Its selection of eleven sequencers and utilities includes versatile tools such as:

<li>Morph: a morphing sequence that automatically shifts pitches over time</li>
<li>Weight: a probabilistic sequencer with set pitches and chance-based occurrence</li>

<li>Brownian: generates melodies based on Brownian motion, with probabilistic pitch changes</li>
<li>Shift: allows for independent re-pitching of loopers within compatible products</li>
<li>MIDI: facilitates MIDI note transmission, enabling detailed control over other devices</li>
<li>Beat: creates rhythmic patterns independent of pitch, suitable for timing and restructuring</li>
<li>Probability: introduces randomness with options for skips and unpredictable variations</li>
<li>Chord: adds harmonic content to incoming notes</li>
<li>Channel: manages MIDI channel distribution in various configurations</li>

In AAS mode, Waymaker enhances integration by allowing each sequencer to modify the pitch of individual channels within compatible products like Weeping Wall and Ridgewalk. It also provides additional control parameters—such as pitch glide and independent looping reversal—that are not available through standard controls. This facilitates the creation of unique audio effects, including complex looper modifications, granular processing, delays, or reverbs.

The software supports comprehensive preset management, including saving configurations within Waymaker itself and controlling presets across other Aqeel Aadam Sound devices in AAS mode. However, users should be aware of minimum version requirements: Weeping Wall version 1.5.0 and Ridgewalk version 1.10 or higher are necessary for full compatibility.
